Lautering & Wort boiling

Lautering takes place in the lauter tun, where the solid components of the mash (draff) are separated from the liquid (wort).

The effluent wort and its valuable ingredients are fed into the brewing pan for wort boiling. In this process, hops are added to the wort, making the beer biologically stable and giving it a slightly tart flavor.
